Grinding/Cleaning Supervisor
TITLE: Grinding/Cleaning Supervisor
REPORTS TO: Plant Manager
STATUS: Salary Exempt – Full-Time
PAY RANGE: $55,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
SUMMARY
The Grinding/Cleaning Supervisor is responsible for overseeing, coordinating and directing all cleaning, blast and heat treat operations. As well as ensuring the team is complying with all safety policies and procedures.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES
- Manage a safe working environment, manufacturing costs, casting quality, quantity of production and methods of production.
- The effective use of production hours, manpower skill, machines, equipment, and facilities.
- Participate in planning production schedules, staffing requirements and manufacturing controls as related to manufacturing operations.
- Expedite scheduled production, investigate delays and initiate corrective action to assure economical production through safe and efficient procedures.
- Coordinate programs as related to operations (example: manufacturing, methods, cost reduction, preventive and regular maintenance, safety, training, housekeeping, scrap reduction, productivity, continual improvement).
- Administer company rules, regulations and policies governing employment.
- Control and maintain the raw materials and cleaning supplies.
- Maintain and upgrade current process control programs.
- Assist in implementation and maintenance of procedures as required to sustain ISO/AS9100 certification.
- Promote and enforce the Ligon Perfect Day.
- Performs other related responsibilities as deemed necessary by the Plant Manager.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT
- High school diploma or equivalent, college degree preferred
- 5-7 years of supervisor and/or leadership role experience
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Must be proficient in MS Office, specifically Access and Excel.
- Ability to work and communicate well with others at all levels.
- Ability to hold confidential information in strict confidence.
- Must be able to multitask and demonstrate excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret various technical documents.
- Ability to use knowledge, experience, and education as needed for employee training.
- Familiarity with aluminum castings concepts, practices and procedures a plus.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT
Physical Demands
Working on the foundry floor for extended periods of time. Sitting and viewing computer monitor, as well as lifting, pushing and pulling of minimum of 50 lbs. constantly.

V-Process Casting Grinder
TITLE: V-Process Casting Grinder
REPORTS TO: Grinding Supervisor
STATUS: Hourly Non-Exempt – Full-Time
PAY RANGE: $18.00 – $22.99
SUMMARY
To efficiently utilize the proper casting finishing practices and techniques which satisfy the customer and/or subsequent process operations. Involves grinding castings of advanced complexity.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES
- Straightening castings and finish grinding casting to customer specifications.
- Sort castings into batches to be sequenced through the department.
- Work as part of a team towards producing Quality parts to production standards.
- Maintain tools and equipment in proper safe working condition.
- Perform minor maintenance on grinders – cleaning, replacing discs, belts, etc.
- Learn to use various hand tools.
- Learn to read technical documents.
- Learn to use various measuring instruments.
- Work to posted standards and instructions.
- Straighten, gauge and patch when necessary to meet specifications.
- Inspect parts to posted instructions.
- Learn gross casting defects and be able to identify them, informing the lead person or supervisor immediately.
- Follow all health and safety rules.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

TITLE: V-Process Casting Molder
REPORTS TO: Molding Supervisor
STATUS: Hourly Non-Exempt – Full-Time
PAY RANGE: $18.00 – $21.78
SUMMARY
To ensure smooth, continual, efficient production of quality molds and meet delivery requirements.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES
- Work as part of the molding team to produce quality molds to production standards.
- Completely perform proper molding techniques according to AS9100 work instructions.
- Inspect molds and ensure acceptability.
- Develop and recommend changes to enhance quality and production.
- Be aware of and report discrepancies in the molding process to supervisor.
- Record production and downtime accurately and in a timely manner.
- Perform work in a safe manner, keeping the area neat and clean and following all health and safety rules.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENT
- High school diploma or equivalent

Engineering Intern
TITLE: Engineering Intern
REPORTS TO: Plant Manager
STATUS: Non-Exempt – Full-Time
PAY RANGE: $21.00
SUMMARY
The Engineering Intern is responsible for engineering and quality functions, as pertains to TPi’s operations. The course of the internship will last the summer. This opportunity will provide the individual with experience in the quality department of an AS9100 foundry. Where you’ll get hands on experience with the different tasks and projects involved in TPi’s Quality Department. This position is responsible for creating clear and attainable project objectives and building project requirements in a AS9100 quality system.
BEHAVIOR REQUIREMENTS

- The ability to adapt to the various internal procedures and work closely with the management team to ensure key metrics of safety, quality, cost, time and customer satisfaction are realized.
- Ability to complete testing pertinent to quality. i.e. sand test, LOI, tensile testing, chemical analysis, First Article Inspections, Simulation Modeling.
- Develop and update process sheets.
- Utilize CAD to create foundry floor plans.
- Ability to coordinate plant engineering functions to include but not limited to Degas testing, new metal qualification, etc.
- Perform other related responsibilities as deemed necessary by their supervisor.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering Technology student having completed the prerequisite engineering requirements through spring semester of their sophomore year.
- Drawing proficiency in modeling program.
- Must be able to multitask and demonstrate excellent organizational skills.
- Must be proficient in Modeling and MS Office.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to multitask and demonstrate excellent organizational skills.
- High degree of interest in manufacturing engineering, quality or operations desired.
